ROOTED IN CUBAN CULTURE
At the heart of Cuban Salsa Camp lies a deep love for Cuban dance, music, and culture. The camp is organized by ELSTUDIO in collaboration with Cuban Culture Club (Cubakultur), a Danish cultural association founded in 1999 with the mission of sharing the warmth, joy, and community spirit found in Cuban culture.
For over 20 years, the association has worked to build bridges between Danish and Cuban culture through dance, music, education, and cultural exchange.
20 YEARS OF DANCE
CAMPS
Cuban Salsa Camp is proud to celebrate more than two decades of salsa camps. In 2025, the camps mark their 20-year anniversary, returning once again to the inspiring surroundings of Bosei Idrætshøjskole — a place that has become a home for generations of dancers.
Each year, the camp brings together dancers from Denmark and abroad for an immersive summer experience filled with rhythm, learning, and connection.
A LIFELONG CONNECTION TO CUBA
The initiator and chairwoman of Cuban Culture Club is Stine Ortvad, a graduate of the National School of Dance in Havana (Escuela Nacional de Arte), where she studied for four years and graduated in 1998.
Stine lived in Cuba for five years and has worked professionally with Cuban dance, music, and culture for more than 20 years — as a dancer, teacher, performer, and cultural ambassador.
Her deep knowledge and authentic connection to Cuba form the foundation of Cuban Salsa Camp.
MORE THAN A DANCE CAMP
Cuban Salsa Camp is about more than learning steps. Our goal is to create meaningful dance experiences that connect people across cultures, ages, and backgrounds.
Through workshops, social dance nights, concerts, and festivals, we use music and dance as a universal language — to inspire, educate, and bring people together in a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.
Organising summer dance experiences is our signature.
From sun-filled days to music-driven nights, we transform inspiring locations into vibrant dance playgrounds where friendships are formed and lifelong memories are created.
Cuban Salsa Camp is known for its warm vibe, strong sense of community, and authentic Cuban spirit — on and off the dance floor.
CULTURE, EXHANGE & COMMUNITY
Cuban Culture Club operates as a non-political cultural platform and information center. The association supports cultural exchange projects, artistic collaborations, and the integration of Cubans living in Denmark.
Any surplus from events is reinvested into future cultural activities, ensuring continuity and growth. Through the association, it is also possible to book dance classes, shows, and live music throughout the year.

Stay Connected
Throughout the year, Cuban Culture Club hosts concerts, workshops, classes, and cultural events — including the annual Latin Festival.
